Getting Recognized
It is unclear to me just why the school district staff felt compelled
to public recognition. I'm just an old guy with a checkbook. (It's
like axle grease, I tell people. The grease is important, but it is
the wheel that does the work.) When my father received a similar
certificate from the library in 1996 it was because he was too old to
continue volunteering to bring books to the jail. He was 83 then, so
I'm hoping for another couple of decades. Maybe they'll have to give
me a second appreciation.

Visiting the Circus
It was back to the past for my half birthday this year as my friend
Ray offered to drive in return for free admission. Ray wanted to see
how the museum had changed since his last visit in 1971, only to

memory of visiting Circus World with my father with a real memory of
him visiting Circus World with me. I even preached a sermon on the
circus.
Out of all 4 visits I have only 2 photos, both from the high school

Visiting the Orthopedist
This morning I finally saw the specialist. I'm not as confident that
he saw me. Certainly he gazed in my direction and unquestionably he
manipulated my leg joints. He smiled benignly and examined the X-ray
image imports. He also discounted the provisional diagnosis from my
doctor and dismissed my subjective experiences, although in the most
avunular manner imaginable.
I've said before that it seems the patient doesn't quite exist for a
Prevea doctor. Only the data presents to them. There is a person, as
well, but the person is a customer; the friendly masks are marketing.
Better to be sold healthcare by a smiling face than a dour one, if
sales is all you can get. But with health concerns care would be
better.
Part of the problem in healthcare is that everyone believes that they
