These images reconstruct Alton Cardinal's photo albums
from the negatives which he kept in envelopes, organized
by quarter.

There are some differences from the printed images.
Most significant is that the album begins in 1936.
 - I did not find any negatives before 1939.
 - The album often omits pictures of himself.
 - The scanned negatives are not always in the order taken
  or the order in which the prints were mounted in the album.
 - The prints typically include slightly less of the image.
 - Some negatives suffered later damage.

The available negatives were scanned in the summer of 2015
and I transcribed Alton Cardinal's notations from the back
of the corresponding prints.

In addition, the prints from his time at Fort Sill in 1941
were scanned in 2017 and those images added to the existing
set.
