Sing Priase to God!

A versification of Psalm 147

How good it is to sing God's praise
for he is gracious, good, and kind.
It's only right that we should phrase
a song which from our lives is mined.

For outcasts bells of welcome ring;
for wanderers, true homes to find.
On broken body health to bring,
and broken heart, and broken mind.

Our God has set the stars in space,
storm clouds raised up to water earth,
the laws of physics put in place,
planned miracles of life and birth.

God feeds the birds, speeds antelope.
Yet less from these God takes delight
than human lives imbued with hope
or when we turn from wrong to right.

How good it is to sing God's praise
with voice and pipe and horn and string.
But even more God's glory raise
with melodies our actions bring.
